Week 36, Part 2- Details...

Outside the Operations building, the City worked with Owens to tap into the potable water line. A hydrant and valve will be installed here-



Later Owens worked on Line G, the gravity sewer line from our plant site which runs back to the Influent Lift Station-





Also, behind the Mechanical building, Owens tied the Reuse Water Tank to the UV discharge line-



The window subcontractor installed all the windows in Operations this week-





Final touches were put on the rebar and grade in the Sludge Basin- the open area at the west end of Mechanical. This is the final area for concrete to be poured in or around the Mechanical building-



And the roofers "dried in" the building by installing felt and ice shield plastic-



To wrap up this week, here's a view from the southwest of the Operations building with Lift Station-2 (effluent) in the foreground. Operations is now ready for insulation and drywall, it will take a couple weeks for the metal roofing to arrive. That's all for this week-

Week 36, Part 1- UV slab, Phos. Tanks & Drywall

The UV disinfection room features a lowered floor, presenting a challenge for CNI's concrete crew! On the left Paul Spifford, Plant Operator for City of Plummer, watches the progress of the pour-

The first two process tanks for Phosphorous removal arrived this week. With some careful lifting they get ready to go in place-





And that "place" is the floor just over 20' down in our concrete hole!-

Week 35, Part 2 Operations and Exterior Progress Views

Over at Operations All Wall placed insulation and vapor barrier in preparation for drywall-

Week 35, Part 1- Mechanical building roof & details

This week began with perhaps a final look at snow for this winter?! This post is going online after a few week’s delay and we haven’t seen more snow in 17 working days since this picture-



But the very next day it was back to normal for this winter- muddy & wet!



This week work continued on the roof of Mechanical, CNI’s crew installed the trusses last week and now worked on decking, blocking, hardware and fascia-



Here’s a nice wide view of the progress at Mechanical with Operations on the left side of the picture-



Owens installed a Dewatering Manhole on the north side of the Mechanical building. The groundwater in this area is substantial so we are making sure the lowest floor in our Mechanical building stays dry! This manhole is actually seated in the basalt bedrock on our site, 10 feet below grade. A permanent, wired pump will be installed by the end of the project-





Here is the floor in question- the UV room. This vertical shot is pre-slab pour. The trusses are in place over the room with just a few plywood sheets in place. The blue vapor barrier is in on top of the gravel slab grade-



This is the Blower Room in the Mechanical building. You can see the electrical conduit stub-ups on the left side. Those are for the Motor Control Center. At this stage we are almost ready to pour the floor slab-
